A Team not Enemies
The Soul and the Ego are supposed to be a team. Many people ignorantly allow their Ego to dominate their Soul.
Others try to kill their ego in “Love and Light” mistakenly. This too is the wrong direction. Killing your Ego is Metaphysical Murder.
Don’t be a Murderer.
Train and Ally with your Ego.
It is your Warrior.
It is your Defender.
Your Ego is your Humanity! Your Soul is your Divinity. We are BOTH.
We are Divine (Soul).
We are Human (Ego).

Software of the Brain
As long as you’re honest about it, yes! 😅
For a more literal and technical perspective the Ego is the software of the Brain. Cognitive biases and psychological defense mechanisms are essentially a “firewall” protecting the software from being hacked or modified by outside potentially hostile threats.
In my experience when someone respects and trusts you, and looks up to you as a mentor; these defenses are disabled or set to low security levels.
Hypnosis is the process of entering a “debugging” mode gaining access to the subconscious and ability to insert code changes directly bypassing all security and logic filters.
However any irrational or nonsensical belief modifications will be quickly eliminated once hypnosis ends. However, if the beliefs are logical and supported by actual evidence the subject is aware of, the new beliefs will stay.
This is the most effective way to treat addiction where the patient is in severe denial and resistant to intervention. I’ve successfully used this on a heroin addict that even denied they experienced withdrawal (they obviously did).
One hypnosis session lasting 2 minutes and he was admitting he had an addiction and stopped denying the issue. He still rationalized and minimized it as “dependent not addicted”, but admitted its existence afterwards.
A Warrior
There is a myth in many spiritual belief systems, that the Ego is the enemy or it must be eliminated.
This is not true however. The Ego is the Lion half of our Soul. Those who kill or repress their egos in pursuit of Enlightenment, are ironically falling into yet another “Ego trap”.
The mistake they are making? Pursuit of “Perfection”, a behavior driven by Pride.
The Ego is Dominant (Yang), while the Soul is Submissive (Yin); but when your Ego and Soul respect each other as equals… the power they wield together as One can move mountains.
When the Two become One, the Way (Tao) is clearly seen. Those who reach this level of awareness, have the power to change the world, still have the desire and passion to do so, and the wisdom to do it in a way that benefits everyone.
